My friend with benefits just got arrested in front of me...?

my friend with benefits and i are both 16 and we've been hooking up for exactly 2 years. our plans were ruined today because i guess as he was crossing the tracks to come meet me, he got caught and searched by the police. the police called me over, asked me if i knew him, told me he has drugs on him, then had me leave. he was sitting on the ground handcuffed so we couldn't say anything, we just made really sad eye contact. is this a reason why he will never wanna talk to me again? maybe he's too embarrassed to speak to me? we never talk about feelings, we avoid the subject...thank you!
