I have a computer problem ):?

my laptop was fine about 3 days ago, but when i was on it the other day my mozilla firefox cut out, i tried to go back on it, but it didnt work, then later my windows live messenger cut out, and now both cannot be accessed, my internet explorer is the only browser that works now, anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? thanks
