Can anyone help with rebuilding/restoring broken computers?

My husband has an HP Desktop model similar to yours. Take a look at the motherboard. It should have some metal posts along the right side and bottom. The tops need to be perfectly flat. If the tops look like they're sticking up instead, the motherboard is fried.
