Make Firefox always display links on mouse over?

I use Firefox 4. Sometimes, when I hover the mouse on a hyperlink, it shows the link I'd be taken to on the bottom left corner of the screen. And that's all good. But then sometimes it enters this state where those links don't show. And I don't know how to get it back to showing links short of restarting Firefox every time this happens. Anyone know?
